Cabinet Intelligence Service[edit | edit source]

The Cabinet Intelligence Service (CIS), is an intelligence department that appears in Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG. One of its most powerful members is Kazundo Gouda. The agency is based on Naicho, the real Japanese Cabinet Intelligence Office.

The Japanese Drug Enforcement Agency is a law enforcement organization responsible for enforcing anti-drug laws in Japan and leading anti-drug operations across the country.
Narcotics Suppression Squad[edit | edit source]

The Narcotics Suppression Squad, under the control of the Drug Enforcement Administration, is an elite unit responsible for conducting special operations on anti-drug missions.
Individual Eleven[edit | edit source]

The Individual Eleven is a terrorist group that Public Security Section 9 dealt with in Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG.
Public Security Bureaus[edit | edit source]
Public Security Section 1[edit | edit source]

Section 1 is known officially as the Special Service Squad, responsible for conducting investigation on most criminal cases in Japan only, supposedly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Public Security Section 2[edit | edit source]

Section 2 is under the control of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, in charge of conducting law enforcement matters regarding unauthorized experiments and patents take place without the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's consent.

Acts similarly to the American Drug Enforcement Agency, enforcing anti-drug policies in Japan.

Section 4 is a special forces military unit in the Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces, commonly known as “The Rangers” and likely reports to military, that is to the Minister of Defense.

Section 6 is an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance unit under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs known as the Treaty Council.

Public Security Section 9, also referred to as Section 9, is an intelligence department under the Ministry of Home Affairs In the original movie, it's known as the Shell Squad or Security Police Section 9.
