The Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm is a manga written by Junichi Fujisaku and illustrated by Yuki Yoshimoto, published by Kodansha and released in 2019. It is a direct sequel to Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor. The story involves an investigation of attacks against cyborgs and proponents of cyberization, which is tied to the secretive "corporeal fundamentalist" group Aterui and the discovery of Motoko Kusanagi's empty prosthetic body near their compound.

Togusa, Batou, and the rest of Public Security Section 9 are back in The Ghost in The Shell: The Human Algorithm, a new story set after the events of Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor! With the Major missing, Section 9 continues along, solving cases with the help of their newest recruit, Tsunagi!
