Yano (ヤノ Yano) is one of Section 9's new recruits in 2nd GIG. Yano was recruited by Section 9 alongside Azuma to bolster their numbers.
Yano is killed in the raid on Hideo Kuze's false location in the 2nd GIG episode "Chain Reaction of Symmetry", making him Section 9's first officer to be killed in the line of duty from hostile gunfire.
Yano also appears briefly in the manga as a new recruit. In the manga he is killed by a Russian named Koil Krasnov, whom he was tailing as his first assignment.
Etymology[]
- The surname Yano is written in katakana (ヤノ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (矢野), it could possibly mean "arrow" (矢) (ya) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no).
